Stillir, heyrðu, störnuhallar;
stef væri eg þier búinn að færa
einkar mætt, ef eg má hitta
orðagnótt að vilja dróttins.
Öllum hlutum er æðri og sælli
eilífligastr skepnu deilir;
honum sie dýrð á himni og jörðu;

Listen, {lord {of the star-hall}} [SKY/HEAVEN > = God]; I would be ready to bring you an extremely splendid refrain, if I can find a richness of words according to the Lord’s will. {The most eternal ordainer of creation} [= God] is more distinguished and blessed than all things; glory be to him in heaven and on earth; he is higher than everything else.
