Svaraði inn sundrmæðri,
svá kvaz veita myndu
sem fótr öðrum.
Hvað megi fótr
Drógu þeir ór skíði
að mun flagði;
þverrðu þeir þrótt sinn
létu mög ungan
til moldar hníga. (eddic or germanic)
(The son of a different mother answered, said he would give help*
to his kinsmen, as one foot does another.
